A village in Nepal…

p1010385

I caught this picture of a woman stringing chilis into ristras while hiking through a village in Nepal. It felt so iconic. This woman could be working in a number of countries around the world and her work is so central to the village life. So vital.

There are times when I long for this simplicity. Is it real, or am I romanticizing a lifestyle that seems just out of my reach? I honor tasks that may appear mundane, but really could be completed in a task that is truly sacred. Does that make any sense? I think it is part of making every moment matter…

I think words are failing me, but I think this woman is amazingly beautiful. I am richer for having met her on the path.
